The Town of Sharon offers many historical, educational and recreational activities. The region’s natural beauty, architecture, and rich history are what make this community unique. The Sharon Springs Central School and the Sharon Springs Free Library further advance educational and cultural activities to the surrounding area. Sharon is blessed with a wide range of active community organizations. Scores of volunteers put in hours at time-consuming tasks, all for the betterment of the community. The Rotary’s motto, “Service Beyond Self” has extended to other organizations as well. The Sharon Historical Society, Sharon Springs Chamber of Commerce, Sharon Springs Citizens’ Council of the Arts, Fire Department, Rescue Squad, American Legion, Twentieth Century Club, various church groups, school organizations, and scout troops, all are a vital part of the community. How fitting the slogan of the Sharon Springs Chamber of Commerce: “Celebrating Our Future! Proud Of Our Past!”
