The annual Sharon Springs Harvest Festival, on the 3rd weekend of Sepember, is a time celebrate the harvest of local farmers, the arrival of Autumn and a time to bring the community together. It’s an exciting time in our village, so come and be a part of Sharon Springs.

It’s harvest time!   The world-famous Sharon Springs Harvest Festival is scheduled for September 19 & 20th. If you loved our previous Harvest Festivals, you’re going t0 really be excited about the new things we have in store this year. Two big new developments:

1. A Main Stage will be set up under the Chalybeate Park Pavillion with amazing presentations, demos & events scheduled all day and evening on Saturday and Sunday. (See schedule below.)

2. Etsy is back! We’ve been big fans of Etsy’s for many years. They’ve helped thousands of craftspersons earn a living doing what they love.

For the second year in a row, we are partnering with Etsy to create the “Etsy Makers Village” right here in Sharon Springs!

All Day– world debut of the new book Beekman 1802 Style: the attraction of opposites.  Brent and Josh will be in the second floor showroom of the Mercantile all day signing copies of their new decor book

All Day – Beekman 1802 Farm Tours. Click here for tickets.

All Day – Kids Creative Garden Cobbler & Co Gift Shop will create a safe and supervised place for kids to play right in the village square with games and prizes from world-famous toy makers Melissa & Doug

All Day (while supplies last)  The American Hotel will be serving fresh-from-the-Cape Lobstah Rolls and Clam Chowda on the lawn of the hotel

All Day (10:00-4:00) visit the Roseboro Hotel and take a spin in an authentic 1901 Oldsmobile

7AM-12PM-  French Toast Breakfast at the Firehouse 

10AM – Over 100 Vendors will open their booths scattered throughout the village.

10AM – “Etsy’s Makers Village” opens. (South Street) Etsy takes over one of the streets in town to highlight the wares of some of their very best regional craftspersons.

11:00AM-11:30PM History of Sharon Springs.  Is this your first time in Sharon Springs?  Here’s your chance to learn about it’s incredible past lives!  Town Historian Nancy Pfau has written a book on the history of Sharon Springs.  She’ll host a q & a and book signing.  Click here to see the book

11:00AM – “The Roseboro – 150 Years in the Making” A presentation about the history of The Roseboro. (Seating is limited to 30 people, but the talk will be repeated at 1:00pm and 3:00pm)

Noon – Become an Official Sharon Springs Honorary Citizen.  (Main Stage) Show up to take the Oath of Honorary Citizenship, (and get spritzed by Mayor Doug,) to become an official, card-carrying, honorary Sharon Springs Citizen. (Super Secret ID Card included.)

1:00PM – Tractor Parade! (Main Street) Line up to celebrate our farmers as they parade their new and antique models down Main Street (from Sharon Springs School to Sunnycrest Orchards.)

2PM – The Sharon Springs Community Cookbook  Remember those times when a community could come together and put on things like a festival (!) and a community cookbook?  Three of our neighbors got together and collected stories and recipes from the community (and some of our most frequent visitors) and created the Sharon Springs Community Cookbook –with over 500 recipes and stories and fabulous artwork by local artist Wendy Costa.   Sample some of the community favorites, learn how the book came about and perhaps be inspired to do something similar in your own community!  Books will be on sale at the discussion, and the profits from the sale of the book go to support the Sharon Springs Community Food Pantry.

5PM – 7PM – Q & A with Etsy (Chalybeate Park & Main Stage).  Learn how to create a marketplace for the things you make straight from the source.

Drinks, Dancing and Dinner at Claussen Farm:

Finally, a chance to experience the magic of Clausen Farm–a sit down, family style, multi-course dinner, prepared by celebrity Chef Stuart O’Keeffe. That same evening we will be sampling “Spirits in the Barn” sponsored by Tuthilltown Distillery, a local Craft Brewery, and Winery. 8:00AM – Noon:  One of the best caterers around, MOSDelicious, is cooking up a Sunday country breakfast featuring local products – bacon, sausage, eggs, syrup, etc. and showcasing local farms. The farmers from Hessian Hill Farm, Parsons Vegetable Farm, The Farm at Cotton Hill, Stonehouse Sap House, and MuMu Muesli will also be on-hand.  (Vendors will receive a 10% discount.)

ABOUT PARKING

All parking is free either at the Sharon Springs Central School (signs will be posted) on the corner of US 20 and State Route 10, or at Sunnycrest Orchards (7869 State Route 10, 1 mile north of Sharon Springs Center.)

There are free shuttles that run between the village and the school throughout the day.  Signs will be posted throughout the village with the locations of pick up and drop off points.

If you have purchased tickets for the Beekman 1802 Farm Tour, please park at the School or Sunnycrest Orchards, take the shuttle bus into town, and then board the special Beekman 1802 Farm Tour Shuttle Bus that stops in front of the Beekman 1802 Mercantile.
